Christine L. Taleff, 93, of Gettysburg, was called home by her Lord on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Avera Oahe Manor, Gettysburg.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Pembroke Cemetery, rural Hoven. Face coverings will be required.
Christine Lenee Taleff attended North Arena country school through eighth grade and then opted to help her family on the farm and did not seek further education. For many years, she and her sister Joyce continued their labors of love, tilling the ground, raising crops, haying, gardening with canning, freezing, and sharing the produce each summer, raising cattle, and milking for their family’s livelihood. One might say they both displayed a quiet pioneer spirit with their strong faith as they shared their talents with others.
She is survived by the children of Raymond and Willard Zuber and Donald and Brian High.
Christine enjoyed leather crafts, creating many billfolds and checkbook covers for neighbors and friends. Her sister Joyce and she were the church historians at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of which they were members for many years. Christine was a member of the Potter County Historical Association and the Country Home Makers Ladies Club.
Preceding Christine in death were her sister Joyce, in 2008; parents, Christ Taleff and Marie (Zuber) Taleff; grandparents, Edward and Lena Zuber; uncles: George and Alfred Zuber, and Warner High; aunts: Anna L. High and Lucille Zuber; and cousins, Raymond and Willard Zuber and Anita (High) Henry.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Christine’s arrangements
