Funeral Service for Corey Lewis age 46 of Fort Yates, ND will be at 11 AM, CT on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Long Solider Yellow District Building in Fort Yates, ND. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery rural Fort Yates, ND under direction of Oster Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. There will be at viewing starting at 10 AM, CT till start of services. Corey passed away in Fort Yates, ND. Oster Funeral Home is entrusted with services for Corey Lewis.

Corey Neal Lewis, 46, Fort Yates, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Funeral services will be held at the Old Yellow District on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Corey was born January 29, 1975, at Fort Yates to Gwen (Village Center) See the Elk. He graduated from Standing Rock High School in May of 1993. Corey played football and cross country for the Warriors. He was also known for his awesome dancing moves and his GQ style! Corey attended Haskell Indian Nations University and Sitting Bull College where he made the dean’s list from 1998 to 2000. He also attended NxLevel Entrepreneurship Training and Bookkeeping for Tribal Organizations in Las Vegas, NV. Corey worked at Prairie Knights Casino as a cashier and then Hunter’s Club, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, and Olive Garden in which he was in a commercial when they first opened up. Corey enjoyed working with any type of electronics. He was a whiz on the computer and could fix anything. He enjoyed traveling the powwow circuit and singing at the drum. He was very social and loved visiting his friends who he considered tiospaye. He loved traveling to new places, especially to Las Vegas. He was a great storyteller!
He is survived by his mother, Gwen Village Center; two brothers, Paul Bear Ribs and Anthony Lewis; two sons, Ohitika Uriah Lewis and Woksape Locke; and two daughters, Wanikiyawin MK Lewis and Sunni Dupri; aunts, Judy Village Center and Nancy Glenn (Fort Yates); cousins, Victoria Birdshead (Jon), Leaf Giroux (Jeff), Chantelle, Sage (Mark), Vance, Sonny (Claude IV), and Hunter Giroux, Louis Village Center, Scott Ell, Seneca Village Center, and Thomas LaFromboise; nieces and nephews, Wallace See The Elk, Natessa, Xandriah, and FayeMarie Martin, Tanielle, Tamarik, Cortney, Samuel, Jaylin, Chance, and Aries, and other nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Corey was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe See The Elk Jr; sister, Sally See The Elk; grandfather Karl Village Center; aunt, Alice Merle Grey Day; uncle, Frank Witte Jr; cousins, Samuel D. Ell, and Preston Village Center.
