David Alan Gravatt was born October 2, 1962 to Lucille McBride and Lester Gravatt in Pierre, SD. He lived in El Paso, TX with his sister and parents while his dad was stationed there for the military. They moved to Pierre, SD after his dad served in Vietnam, he continued living with his mother and sister in Pierre for a few years before moving back to Fort Thompson for a short time. He attended school in Stephan, but throughout the years he started a few side jobs helping people.
He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed walking and running and would help whoever he could that needed help. He enjoyed dancing and listening to music, smoking and having a good time with friends and family. He was quite the character and loved trying to play his guitar for whoever would listen. Dave was a passionate soul that could tell you a story if you would listen and be there as a good friend. But most of all he loved his family and friends near and far. Dave never had children of his own but thought of his nieces and nephews very highly and loved them all as well as his brother-in-law Wally Felicia.
Dave passed away on March 28, 2022 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 59. Gratefully sharing his life are his brother-in-law Wally Felicia, his special grandniece Lucy, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his mother Lucille, sister Glenda, father Lester, uncle Lyle Gravatt, aunt Karen Lafferty, aunt Roberta Harrison, and many more awaiting his arrival in Heaven.
He will be deeply missed and loved by many on his journey to Heaven.
