SIOUX FALLS, SD – David Edwin Miller,34, passed away at his home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Sunday, May 19th eight days before his 35th birthday. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm-6:30pm on Thursday, May 23rd at New Life Assembly of God Church in Pierre with a time of sharing starting at 6:30pm. The funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, May 24th at New Life Assembly of God Church with burial at Riverside Cemetery. David was born May 27, 1989 in Pierre, South Dakota to Jan and Tammy (Klein) Miller. David grew up in Pierre and attended school where he graduated from TF Riggs in 2007.
After high school he attended Lake Area Tech in Watertown, SD, where he honed his skills and graduated as a Certified Diesel Technician. This education fueled his passion for mechanics, a field where he excelled and found great satisfaction. David’s career at Matzen Farms, Inc. was marked by dedication and a work ethic that earned him the respect of his colleagues and the community.
Outside of his professional life, David was a man of many interests and talents. He was an avid hunter, spear fisher and scuba diver, where he explored the depths of Lake Oahe. He was always immersed in mechanical work, fabrication, or woodworking and loved to cook. His creativity was boundless, and through his skills and attention to details. Time with friends and family was David’s most treasured activity, especially moments spent with his beloved nephew Maverick, who brought immense joy and laughter to his life.
Those who knew David would describe him as thoughtful and kind. His presence was a source of comfort and his actions a reflection of his generous spirit.
He is survived by his parents Jan and Tammy Miller, sisters; Angela Allum, Mindy Allum and Audrey Miller. He is also survived by his grandparents Milo and Kathy Klein, nieces and nephews, Lucas Allum, Tyler Owens, Carter Owens, Katie Owens and Maverick Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Hub and Addy Miller and aunt Pat Klein.
