Funeral for Devin Montreal age 51 of Mobridge, SD will be at 10:00 AM, MT on Saturday, August 7th, 2021, at the Community Center in White Horse, SD. Fr. John Paul Trask will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Cemetery in White Horse, SD under the direction of Oster Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. There will be all night Wake Service starting at 7:00 PM, MT on Friday at the Community Center. Devin entered the spirit world on July 28, 2021, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital due to natural causes.
Devin Dean Montreal entered the physical world on March 14th, 1970, born to parents Nino Montreal and Rita Jean Rousseau in eagle Butte South Dakota. He was welcomed home by his big brother Dino and sister Yvette.
Devin also known as “Slim” lived his days amongst family residing in South Dakota and Minnesota. He spent his earlier years living in White Horse then moving to McIntosh, Mobridge, and Minneapolis. Besides working on cars in the neighborhood, Devin enjoyed attending pow wows, singing alongside drum groups, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a jack of all trades as he held several laborious jobs painting and remodeling homes, landscaping, and demo cleanup.
He was always ready to help someone in need and many people knew him for having a caring and protective demeanor.
In July of 2021, Devin abruptly began having significant health issues and sought medical attention.
Devin was hospitalized in Mobridge where testing would reveal that his health was deteriorating due to problems with his liver. He spent his final days surrounded by family and loved ones as the effects of liver failure took his life.
Devin began his journey to the spirit world on July 28th, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, grandfather Martin, grandmother Virginia Traversie Rousseau and grandfather Lawrence Rousseau, his uncles Peter, William (Billy), Francis, his aunts Theresa and Rose Mary.
Survived by his sister Yvette Montreal, his brothers Dino (Kathleen Mills), Marlen, and Darris Montreal, sister Eunice Deane, uncle Leo Rousseau, uncle Johnny Rousseau, in addition to his many nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, friends and loved ones.

Drum Group will be Wakiyan Maza.
Casket Bearers will be Dino Montreal Jr., Clayton Montreal Sr., Aris Montreal, Francis Rousseau Jr., Rocky Joe Lafferty, Charlie Black Fox, Kenny Wells, David Miner, Lawrence Rousseau, and Harley Raba.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be all friends and family.
