Dorothy Blom,99, of Pierre died on Friday, July 1st at Avera Maryhouse in Pierre. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, July 8th at the Riverside Cemetery in Pierre.

Dorothy was born on the family homestead near Midland, SD to Carl and Rosa (Rada) Sampson on April 28th, 1923. She grew up in the Midland and Belvidere communities and attended a one room school until the eighth grade. After she married Andrew Blom in Valentine NE on February 8th, 1941, they made their home in the Midland area until 1972 when they moved to Pierre. She was involved in the Pierre Garden Club and the Community Bible Church.
She is survived by her son Calvin of Longview, WA; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sister Grace of Pierre.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew in 1996, brothers Vern; Stanley, and sister Blanche.
Memorials can be designated to the Community Bible Church.
