George Finlay, 72, of Pierre, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Feigum Funeral Home.

George was born December 31, 1950 in Goliad, TX to George and Allie Fae (Moore) Finlay. After his early years of education in Goliad, he attended Job Corp where he received management training. George worked for Goliad County and spent time working on drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
George moved to South Dakota and made Pierre his home beginning in 2004. He was employed at Shamrock Ranch where he was able to do what he loved, caring for and training horses. He had a passion for horses and looked forward to the annual horse races in which his horses would compete.
He will be remembered for his fun and adventurous spirit and will be missed by many!
George is survived by his son Patrick (Nicki) Cleveland of Pierre, brothers James Finlay and Clarence Robinson, both of Goliad, TX, grandchildren Khia and Kezrey (“Brown Sugar”), his dear friend Bobbie Country and her children Daniel, Isaiah and Zayden (“Little Man Z”) and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Troy Dean.
