Georginia went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck, ND.
Georginia Juanita Red Bear was born in Gettysburg, South Dakota, to George and Isabell Collins Zimmerman on Palm Sunday morning April 3,1955, the fifth child of six children. Her siblings include Earl Eugene Case, Caroline Patricia (Butch) Schumacher (Gillette, Wyoming), Patrick Richard (Nancy) Case (Tok, Alaska), Allyn (Edra) Case (St. George, Utah), and George Franklin (Linda) Zimmerman II. Georgina’s mother Isabell was her greatest influence in life. Isabell didn’t read the Bible to her kids, but she took them to church. She lived for God and her family. Isabell had a hard life, but she always had a smile, and she worked her way through all the trials and tribulations of this world. God blessed Georginia with the best mom in the world. Georginia’s dad George was a good man. He was 40 years old when he married, and he was a good influence on his family. He had been a Prisoner of War and carried his sorrows and pain from the experience the rest of his life. He loved his family and made sure they knew it. God blessed Georginia with a great dad.
Georginia has six wonderful children, Stephen Paul (Angelina) Zimmerman, Jamie Ann Cedar, Robin April (Richard) Thompson, Jenny (Slade) Farlee, George Franklyn (Brandee BahnMiller) Zimmerman III, and Jeremiah Andrew (Aubrionna Enno) Red Bear. Georginia wouldn’t say she was a great mom, but she did the best she could. She would say she made a lot of mistakes but somehow the Lord kept His hand on her children. Georginia also has 13 grandchildren: Andy Jo Spotted Bear, Rylan Paul Zimmerman, Jasper Ky Pesicka, Alliya Rose Pesicka, Matthew Joseph Lemke, Isaiah Kane Pesicka, Walker Evans Farlee, Sariah Farlee, Kalynn Adeline Farlee, Olivia Kristine Thompson, Lillian Freda Thompson, Adelyn Grace Thompson, Alaela Claire Mattson, Arya Saphire Mattson, Meera Meadow Rain Mattson, Aurora Juanita Red Bear, and one great grandson, Axton Spotted Bear.
Georginia is a direct descendent of Jennie In the Lead, Wounded Knee survivor and of grandfather Wiliam Garreau. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Isabell, two brothers Earl and George, one set of twin children, three grandchildren Andy Jo, Jasper Ky, and Adelyn, and her dear cousin and friend JR Collins.
The Lord blessed Georginia. She spoke about her Savior Jesus Christ and heaven frequently and boldly, bringing countless others to know the Lord. She will be with Him forever happier and more blessed. She trusts that her loved ones will soon join her. Don’t cry, she is with Jesus, her grandparents and parents, Jasper Ky, Andy Jo, Adelyn, and JR. She would want all her friends and family to know she is at peace.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2nd Corinthians 1: 3-4.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Georginia’s arrangements.
