Janice Marie (Hillmer) Kilbourn AKA Hanna of Blunt, passed away September 9, 2022 at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 2:00 pm in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blunt, SD. Immediately following the ceremony friends and family are welcome to celebrate Janice’s life at the Medicine Creek Bar in Blunt. Her service will be broadcast live at the following link:
Janice Marie (Hillmer) Kilbourn, was born March 30, 1956 in Pierre, SD to John and Marguerite (Tiny) Hillmer. She attended school in Blunt and Raybor School and eventually earned her GED. Janice worked as a cook at several restaurants throughout her lifetime as well as being a care-taker for special friends. She loved cooking meals and sharing her baked goods with anyone in need. She also enjoyed country music, watching cooking channels, watching the history channel, going to rodeos and watching the NFR. She also loved her favorite dog Bear. Janice loved spending time with her family and friends.
Janice is survived by her partner Ben Reinert, her children, Cody (Angie) Serbousek of Blunt, SD, Billy (Brooke) Serbousek of Springfield, IL, Ashley (Rodney) Hiatt of Missoula, MT, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with number three expected in January; brothers John (Jean) Hillmer of Ft Pierre, Dick (Lila) Hillmer of Onida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Buck Kilbourn, her parents John and Marguerite Hillmer, sisters and brother-in-laws Betty and Alvin Millard and Shirley and Paul Bergeson, and one grandson, Jesse John Serbousek.
