On February 2, 2005 our beloved Son, Brother and Relative, Jashawnn Emmet Stanley Whiteman was born to Chonette Whiteman in Bismarck N.D. at Med Center One. Jashawnn was not only the eldest of his birth mother’s children, but was also the youngest child of his adoptive family.
Jashawnn attended school in Fort Yates N.D from Headstart through Jr. High. He then transferred to and attended school at Circle Of Nations Boarding School in Wahpeton N.D. and Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon, where he had started his sophomore year at the time of his passing.
Jashawnn was an outgoing, loving, and caring kid growing up; and he kept that same personality throughout his teen years. He could put a smile on your face even during the worst of days. He was the type of person to help and listen to your hardships without judgement. He enjoyed playing video games, skateboarding, going on walks, and just generally hanging out with his friends and siblings. He loved and cared for anyone who he crossed paths with. He gave this world his love, generosity, compassion, and friendship. Our world has definitely lost a true sibling and friend.
