Jerrod Charles Johnson was born March 26, 1993 to Darwin Charles Johnson and Rhonda Raye (Lux) Johnson in Hollister, CA. The family returned to Oacoma, SD in 1996. Jerrod attended Chamberlain Public Schools graduating in 2012 from Chamberlain High School.
Jerrod loved computers and he moved to Mitchell, SD so that he could attend Mitchell Vo-Tech. A year later he returned home. Jerrod spent most of his time working with his mom in various motels in the area. He was currently employed with the Quality Inn of Oacoma. Jerrod loved putting together model cars as it was a project that he enjoyed doing with his father who passed away in 2014.
Jerrod was a loving and kind spirit who loved to help people whenever he was able. He lived with his mother in Oacoma until the time of his passing.
Jerrod passed away on November 21, 2021 at home in Oacoma, SD. He is survived by his mother Rhonda Johnson of Oacoma, SD; his grandmothers Christina Johnson of Chamberlain, SD and Violet Pearson of Oacoma; aunts Mandy (Will) Mahnke of Chamberlain, SD, Gail Goetsch of Sioux Falls, SD, and Cheryl (Donnie) Adams of Hartford, SD; uncles Kevin (Brenda) Johnson of Reliance, SD, Doug Johnson of Chamberlain, SD, Fay Hickey of Oacoma, SD, and Dallas Pearson of Oacoma, SD; and cousins William and Mason Mahnke, Robbie and Willie Johnson, Mitchel and Madyson Adams, Shawn Goetsch, Christen Gregg; and his friends.
Preceding him in death were his father Darwin, uncle Clinton “Cloey” Lux, cousins Titus Hickey and Gloria Ann (Hickey) Cruz, his grandfather Dude Lux, and his great grandparents Vera and Haze Hickey.
