JoEllen Wieseler, 60, of Faulkton, passed away from cancer Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, with her husband, Scot, by her side.

A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2020 at the church with a visitation two-hours prior.
JoEllen was born on August 1, 1960, to Lyle and Charlotte (Thomas) Giesen in Faulkton. She graduated from Faulkton High School in 1978. She went on to study at South Dakota State University receiving her Masters in Guidance and Counseling.
JoEllen followed her passion of teaching and guidance counseling in numerous school districts. She has touched so many lives of staff and students’ who crossed her path. She took the time to make sure everyone else was seen and heard. It didn’t matter how busy she was, everyone else always came first, especially her family.
JoEllen Giesen married Scot Joseph Wieseler on October 28th, 1989. After the birth of their first child, she devoted herself to raising their children and helping Scot on the family farm. Once the children got older and became more involved in activities, she never missed an event. You could always count on JoEllen to be the loudest fan in the stands and the most supportive, and if you couldn’t see her you probably heard her. JoEllen’s kindness and thoughtfulness led her to reach out unselfishly to others.
With a kind heart and open arms, JoEllen opened her home to Aubri Hjorth and made him a part of the Wieseler family. This was no surprise to the ones that knew her, just a reflection of her selfless and tender love towards others. Jo also always found the time to visit with her mother every day no matter what else was going on. Her family was everything to her, and even in her last days her strength gave her the courage to remain more focused on others than on her sufferings.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Scot Wieseler of Orient, one daughter, Sister Desirae Purissima, S.V., three sons, Robin (Ashley) Wieseler, Darin Wieseler and Aubri Hjorth, a grandson and a granddaughter, Kamden and Zadie Wieseler, her mother, Charlotte Giesen of Faulkton, sister, Cecelia (Mike) Schultz of Wyoming, MN, and her brother, John (Konni) Giesen of Faulkton, as well as her in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Giesen, and father-in-law, Robert Wieseler.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with JoEllen’s arrangements.
