PIERRE, SD – Kenny Bridger, 67, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on December 4, 2024, at his home in Pierre, SD. A memorial service will be held at Isburg Funeral in Pierre after the first of the year.
Kenny was born on November 16, 1957, in Vancouver, WA, to Billy and Velda (Nelson) Bridger. He grew up and attended school in the lush surroundings of Vancouver before moving to Pierre, SD in 1986.
After his move to Pierre, he met the love of his life, Barbara “Barbie” Wedge and became her Ken, they were married on February 15, 1997.
Professionally, Kenny was a dedicated worker, first with Century Manufacturing and then, finding his niche with the Associated School Board of South Dakota. His commitment to his work was evident until his retirement in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of service.
Beyond his family and work, Kenny had a passion for collecting. His collections of clocks, chess sets, knives, and swords were a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship. He was not just a collector but also a creator, a master builder of model cars who paid meticulous attention to every detail. His hobbies extended to the simple pleasures of life, such as watching the squirrels and birds that visited the many feeders he maintained in his yard. His absence will be deeply felt by everyone that knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara “Barbie” Bridger, and his children: Domonique Bridger, Jillanna (Erick) Moe, Saphryn Raptopoulos, Kenny Lee Bridger, Kody (Kaylynn) Bridger, Bradley (Gina) Morris, and Brian (Deena) Morris.
