Kip Lane Eickhoff, 65, of Pierre, SD passed away at his home of natural causes on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
Memorial service will be 3:00pm on Monday, January 2, 2022 at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre. Burial of cremated remains will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Valentine, NE at a later date. Kip’s family extends and invitation for everyone to join them at the Legion following the service.
Kip was born on June 15, 1957, in Pierre, South Dakota to Raymond and Eldina (Jeitz) Eickhoff. Soon after his family moved to Valentine, Nebraska where he attended school and graduated from Valentine High School in 1975. Kip spent many years working alongside his father in the local Coast to Coast Hardware store where he was often accompanied by his dog, Colorado. He married Janette (Peterson) Eickhoff in 1984 and later adopted his daughter Stephanie (Eickhoff) Peterson in October of 1987. They divorced in May of 1992.
Kip moved to Pierre, SD several years later where he worked at Peterson Motors, the local Harley Davidson store and Titan Machinery where he retired in 2019. He met Tina (Flynn) Eickhoff who he married on December 11, 2015, and acquired three stepchildren Jolene, Derek, and Kayla. He also became a full-time grandpa to his beloved dog, Griffin.
Those who knew Kip will remember him for his enormous passion for riding motorcycles and entertaining his friends for Happy Hour on the patio or in his garage. He had been a long-time member of Oahe A.B.A.T.E., where he served as a Sergeant of Arms for many years. Kip had many bikes throughout his life ending with his Road Glide which he absolutely loved. He loved telling stories of his biking adventures all over the country from the tip of the Florida Keys, all the way up to the Arctic Circle in Alaska with his longtime friend, Tim McCabe. He continued to plan new bike trips with his friends and saw many more from all over the world at the Sturgis Rally for 43 consecutive years.
Kip was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eldina (Jeitz) Eickhoff and brother, Randy Lee Eickhoff. He is survived by his wife, Tina (Flynn) Eickhoff; daughter, Stephanie (Eickhoff) Peterson; stepchildren, Jolene Juneau, Derek (Mandy) Juneau and Kayla Sandeen. He leaves behind his niece, Leone (Eickhoff) Gentry; nephew, Randy Roger Eickhoff; grandchildren, Kori, Nora, Graig and Brody and his beloved grand-dog, Griffin.
