Born on April 5, 1954, in Watertown, SD, to Kenneth and Grace (Stoner) Kucker. Larry was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. Larry was a proud graduate of Watertown High School and furthered his education by earning his MBA at Northern State University. While there he met Marsha Froke and they were married in Vienna, SD, on August 19, 1978. They made their home in Pierre and welcomed their son Brandon.
Larry dedicated many years of service to the South Dakota Bureau of Personnel and retired as the State Benefits Manager. His wisdom and friendly demeanor made him a well-respected figure in his profession.
Larry was a man of many interests, but his greatest joy was found in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, often spending his free time in the tranquility of nature. However, these activities were made all the more enjoyable when shared with his loved ones. His sense of adventure led them on many road trips, often with detours. Larry’s love for his family was profound, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His jokes and pranks will be equally missed.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Marsha, and their son, Brandon (Andrea Clarke). He was a doting grandfather to Jaret, Jackson, and Sutton, who will fondly remember their grandfather’s jokes and shared adventures. Larry also leaves behind his brother Bruce (Julie), nieces Nicole Kimura, Heidi (John) Flickinger, and Karen Kucker, siblings-in-law: Mark (Kathy) Froke, Marla (Ralph) Boynton, Bob Froke, Doug (Colleen) Froke, Brad (Monica) Froke, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Merle and Margaret Froke, his sister Bev Kimura, and special friends Kevin “Swede” Sporrer and Terry Walters.
