Mass of Christian Burial for Linda Village Center, 81, of Ft. Yates will be at 11 AM, Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ft. Yates. Inurnment will be at the church cemetery. A meal and time of fellowship will follow Saturday services at the St. Bernard Mission Cafeteria. A Rosary service will be at 6 PM Friday, December 5, 2025, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Linda passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the IHS Hospital in Ft. Yates.
Linda Village Center was born on December 12, 1943. in Fort Yates, ND to William and Leona (Archambault) Village Center. She attended grade school in Bullhead, SD, and attended Marty & Stephan Boarding Schools. Her first job was as a cook at the Fort Yates Boarding School, and she worked there with her mom (Leona) for 7 years. After there she went to work for IHS Fort Yates as a cook and worked there for 30 years and retired. After retirement, she spent remaining years with her grandchildren & great grandchildren in Fort Yates.
She is survived by her children: one son Kevin (Susan) Brave Bull, two daughters Michelle and Karrie Brave Bull. Her four sisters Carol Gipp, Marlene Mclaughlin, Irma Annis, Toni Village Center. Her grandchildren Kyra, Wakiya, Dakota Brave Bull along with Havannah & Patrick Little Dog, Johnson (Dawn) Brave Bull, Al St. John, Kitt (Melissa) St. John, Kenten St. John, Kash (Justice) St. John, Klayann St. John, Christine Toon. Sethan (Brooke) Brave Bull, Tristan (Jodi) Gates, Ashlynn (Elias) Sandland, Kaden (Kay’liah) Sandland, Eris Grey Cloud. Her great grandchildren: Halo & Kyrie Brave Bull, Demilynn, Kassidy, Darian, Kay’ah Otter Robe, Khloe, Kairo, Kaius St. John, Kooper & Connor St. John, Collin St. John, Kash Jr. & Ira St. John, Ryland & Jackson Silk, Tre Toon & Alex Floren, Mauney Toon, Kyler, Skyler, Ryker & Bryer Brave Bull, Aubrey Gates & Adrian Wolf Necklace, Sebastian Yellow Hammer.
She was preceded in death by her parents William & Leona Village Center, her two brothers Bill & Johnny Village Center, four sisters Velma Village Center, Kathy Village Center, Tina Hertel, & Joyce Rush, her two nephews Blue Annis & Steve McLaughlin, three nieces Mandy McLaughlin, Jerilynn Gipp, Angel Village Center, and one great nephew Rolland Grass Rope.
