Who Will Weep
When time stops and I at last find peace,
Whose sorrow will bring them to their knees?
Whose tears will dampen the entrance to my grave?
Whose heart will inscribe the memory of my face?
Who will think to remember times we never shared?
Who will think to whisper ‘I was never really there’?
Time will stop and I will face the final sleep,
Many will kneel, but who will weep?
When time removes me from the life I lead,
Who will carry their heart upon their sleeve?
Who will mourn the times no longer shared?
Who will think to whisper ‘life isn’t fair’?
Whose arms will reach beyond the lonely tomb?
Whose love will fill the earth with floral blooms?
When time stops and I am laid to rest,
It is you my friend, who will face life’s cruelest test.
