Lou Rediger, 90, of Miller, passed away unexpectantly Friday, September 17, 2021, at Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital, Miller.
Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the St. Lawrence Community Church with Pastor Jason Watson officiating. Private burial will take place at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.
Lou was born August 6, 1931, in Highmore, South Dakota to Lars and Bertha (Westhauser) Runestad. She married the man of her dreams, Dale Rediger. They moved their young family to Missoula, Montana for 11 years; returning to South Dakota living on a farm south of St. Lawrence.
She was an active member of the St. Lawrence Community Church, holding offices and working in adult and children’s education classes. She held the office of state extension secretary, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed attending many concerts and plays with friends. She was an avid fan of all her grandchildren, attending many hours of school and sports events.
Her desserts, humor, and love will be missed. However, the loss of prayer coverage for family and friends will be truly felt.
Farewell to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. May the joy of seeing the man of your dreams, your grandson, and our Savior outweigh our immense sorrow.
She is survived by her children: son, Greg (Carolyn) Rediger of Miller, daughter, Kathy (David) Siegling of Huron, daughter, Luann (Tom) Reynolds of Sioux Falls, and son, Bryon (Cheryl) Rediger of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Grant Rediger, Daniel Siegling, Nathan (Mackenzie) Reynolds, Kari (Sam) Pirtle, Rainey (Brittany) Reynolds, Bryanna Rediger, Brooke Rediger, and Braydon Rediger; great grandchildren: Sophie Siegling, Grady, Kaylee, and Ethan Reynolds, and Bailey Pirtle; and one brother, Les (Ellen) Runestad of Venice, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; beloved grandson, Steven Siegling; and seven siblings.
Both she and Dale provided their family a foundation on Jesus Christ and a lifetime of blessings.
We do have our sweet and precious memories…’til we meet again.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the St. Lawrence Community Church, P.O. Box 65, St. Lawrence, SD 57373.
