Mildred L Semon, 80, of Bridger, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital, Philip.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MST, Friday, February 11, 2022, at All Saints Catholic Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will be 2:30 p.m., Friday at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the church with a procession from the 4-mile east of town at 4:00 p.m.
Mildred Louisa Red Bull-Semon was born at Old Agency, SD to Daniel and Marcella (Little Dog) Redbull. She was a Cheyenne River tribal member. She was a fluent Lakota speaker. She loved beading and loved traveling and being on the road. She was known for her Lakota storytelling and knew all the history. She had a heart of gold and loved all of her friends, family, relatives, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mildred “Midge/Midgie” was a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Mildred is survived by her children: Melvin, Pam, Craig (Anitra) Semon; grandchildren: Whitney (Steven) Semon, Wanda (Diego) Semon, Meleena (Anthony)Semon, Nathaniel Semon, Amanda Friesen, Mindy Semon, Fancy Red Eyes, Michael (Tammy) Marshall, Melody, Daniel, Emmanuel, David, and Hunter Semon; great grandchildren: Paria and Payton Semon, Kasidee and Alecia Mestes, Kaylee and Kobaiah Jones, Daisa Alonzo, Sadie Semon, Nataliyah Gomez, Azariah, Aneelem, and Luca, Iron Thunder, Cattleya Semon, Ezekiel and Josiaha Friesen, Joyce Ann, Tallulah, and Cooper Marshall; great grandchildren AJ, Alex, Rhonna, Caysen, and Lillian, Aaron, Aaurora, and Aayden.
Mildred was welcomed home to the spirit world by her parents, Daniel and Marcella Red Bull; husband, David Semon; brothers: Melvin Joe and Paul Red Bull; sisters: Philomene Charges In Winter and infant sister, Ramona Red Bull; great granddaughter, Kenzie Mestes.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Mildred’s arrangements.
