ST. LAWRENCE, SD –
Morris Reber, 53, of St. Lawrence, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at his home.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Community Church of St. Lawrence, with Pastor Jim Hofman officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2023, at Reck Funeral Home in Miller.
Morris was born on November 14, 1970, to Nilo and Rosemary (Rustemeyer) Reber in Brookings, SD. He cherished his high school years, where he developed a passion for wrestling, graduating from Highmore High School. Following his graduation from Mitchell Tech as a linesman, Morris devoted 29 years to Dakota Energy. He later worked for Lee Cain and John Fanning. Morris was blessed with two children: Zach and Morgan.
On September 19, 2019, Morris married Tyshay, in Lake Andes. Morris welcomed his new stepdaughter, Alexsis, and they all made their home in Miller.
Morris found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved ice fishing, fishing, smoking meat, driving around to see the country, hunting, cutting wood, attending rodeos, and making annual trips to races in Wagner. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Tyshay Reber of Miller; his son, Zach Reber of Selby; his daughter, Morgan Reber of Gregory; stepdaughter, Alexsis Dunham of Miller; two grandchildren, Ryder and Ridge; mother, Rosemary (Bill) Lampman of Pickstown; sister, Monica (Luke) Epperson of Rapid City; nephews: Gus, Bryson, and Skylar; parents-in-law, Bridget and Eric Russell of Long Beach, CA; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nilo Reber.
