Nadine Kay Harsin was born in Gregory on July 11, 1957 to Cal & Karen (Walker) Harsin. Not long after, she began her career at the Chuck Wagon Café in Blunt. Nadine slept on the deep freeze while her parents worked alongside of our Grandmas.
Growing up at the Café was a WONDERFUL life. Nadine LOVED to share her personality & GREAT food with HAPPY Customers. She entertained them with her “witty” ways, fed them a good home cooked, old-fashioned meal & they left w/a full tummy & a smile on their face. Nadine took GREAT pride in her cooking & we all benefitted from it.
Nadine graduated from Sully Buttes School in 1975 & then went on to further her education @ a tech school in Denver.
Nadine had only one child, Amanda Kay Harsin. Life, as a single Mom was not easy, but she mastered it! Amanda was her “PRIDE & JOY”. As a Mom, she enjoyed all of the Mandy milestones & was VERY proud of the woman that she became. Amanda blessed Nadine with three living grandchildren, John, Abby, & Ellie. John was the LUCKY one, while living in SD & within spoiling range. Nadine missed the quality time with twins (living in NY) but CHERISED the time that they shared. Nadine LOVED them deeply.
Nadine had many talents. She LOVED working for Van Camps Insurance, until they sold their business. Then, she moved on, eventually landing in Medical Services for the State. Nadine’s keyboarding skills were second to none. She was and exceptional asset & FREE ENTERTAINMENT, all rolled into One Fine Lady!
Nadine enjoyed playing cards, playing pool, cooking, playing on her I-Pad, smoking cigs, & back in The Lone Tree days, she would ENJOY a cherry vodka or two. Dad ALWAYS said that Nadine came of life, when the streetlights turned on – & he wasn’t wrong—
Nadine made our world a brighter place & will NEVER be forgotten. CHERISH your Memories & B YOURSELF – there is NO one better.
PS—Nadine was the BEST Big Sister to Vicki, Bonnie & Kami!!!
