Patricia Klein, Sioux Falls, SD passed away December 14, 2021, at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls. She was 73.
Pat was born July 11, 1948, in Chamberlain, SD, to Edwin and Betty (Herndon) Klein.
She graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1966. She then attended the University of SD for four years, majoring in Psychology. Later in life, Pat returned to school to get a degree in Dietetics at SD State University.
Pat married Kenneth Korb of Winner SD, on July 2, 1970. They moved to Boston, MA and Cape Canaveral FL. Kimberly was born January 16, 1971, while they were living in Boston and Jennifer was born February 6, 1973, while they were living in FL. Ken and Pat moved back to SD in the summer of 1974. Ken and Pat lived in a varied of places from 1974 to 1979 before settling in the Bijou Hills/Academy area till 1989. In that time, we had an unexpected blessing join our family of 4. Audra was born March 31, 1987. Ken worked with different farmers from Hamill, SD, Chamberlain SD, Bijou Hills, Kimball SD and Academy, SD. They divorced in 1990. Following the divorce Pat moved to Chamberlain with their daughters Jennifer and Audra.
Pat was a homemaker for most of her marriage. While they lived in Kimball, she worked at Midway Truck Stop as a waitress 1977-1979. After they moved back to Academy in 1980, she started working at the Platte Bowling Alley. After she moved to Chamberlain following her divorce, she worked at the nursing home there as a cook. She then moved to Sioux Falls in 1992 where she worked at Covington Heights Nursing Home for a couple of years. 1995 she moved to Balaton, MN and worked as cook at the nursing home there for a couple of years. Pat moved to Pipestone, MN and worked at Flandreau Royal River Casino.
Pat moved back to Sioux Falls in 2003 where she purchased a home for her and Audra. Pat worked for a short period of time at DakotAbilities.
Pat’s passion and love in life were her family. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, doing word search puzzles, and playing bingo.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three girls, Kimberly (Chad) White of Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer Limmer (Mark Magnuson) of Madison, SD, and Audra Korb of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Tia and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Asher and Nash; her mother, Betty Klein of Chamberlain, SD; brother, Ronald (Mary) Klein, Bettendorf, IA; sister, Nancy Langfeldt Sioux Falls, SD, brother, Mark (Ronda) Klein Chamberlain, SD; and her four-legged little buddies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Klein; brother, Nicholas Klein; and her former husband, Kenneth Korb.
A memorial/grave side service will be held July 9, 2022 at 11:00 at the Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain, SD.
Following the services the family has reserved a picnic shelter area at the American Creek Campground in Chamberlain across from the marina. We would love for everyone to join us to share any and all the wonderful memories that you have of our mother. We plan on having food & refreshments available.
