Randy was born on November 19, 1960, in Falfurrias, Texas, to Robert and Rosalee (Hanley) Dejmal. He grew up in Midland and Cypress, Texas, and was a member of the Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. While working for his uncle as a custom combiner in South Dakota, he met the love of his life Carolyn. They were married on August 2, 1981.
After graduating from Texas A&M University, he worked as a safety engineer for Texas Employer’s Insurance then at EMC Insurance for the remaining 34 years of his career.
Family was a cornerstone in Randy’s life. He was a caring and devoted husband and was active in his children’s lives. He was an Assistant Scout Master and always present for extra-curricular activities. He enjoyed traveling, whether for work or a family road trip. Getting to explore new places with his children, then also his grandson, was something he treasured. He was a Mexican food aficionado and could tell you the best place to get it in many cities. His family and friends appreciated his wit and sarcasm.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Carolyn Dejmal; children, Elliott (Haley) Dejmal and Rebekah Dejmal; grandchild, Ryker Dejmal; brother-in-law, Richard (Kellie) Bisbee; and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
