Randall “Randy” Diedrich,67, passed away at his home in Pierre, SD on September 22, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 11:00am at The Bridge Wesleyan Church in Pierre with the family greeting visitors one hour prior to the services.

He was born on June 7, 1956, in Pierre, SD, to Walter and Cleova (Haugen) Diedrich. He grew up in Presho, SD, where he attended Lyman County Schools. He married Rhonda Uthe in Ethan SD, in September of 1976 and together they had three sons. They made their home in Presho, before moving to Rapid City where he furthered his education at Western Dakota Votech. He opened and ran a body shop and had other business ventures before establishing R&R Transportation. His love for the open road was evident, and he found great joy in his career as a trucker. In 2001, R&R Transportation relocated to Pierre, bringing the entire family along with.
Randy loved baseball. Whenever there was a game on you could find him in front of the tv with a bag of peanuts and a coke. His favorite team was the Dodgers, with the Cubs coming in as a close second. He was a devoted fan of NASCAR and loved classic cars. His favorite holiday was Christmas because he was able to spend time with his family and grandkids. He was also a fan of dog shows and had his own show dog, Paige. Another one of his business ventures was Big Paws, located in downtown Pierre. He enjoyed staying informed about current events by watching the news on CNN, even though it drove him crazy. Randy had an adventurous spirit and in retirement he moved to the Dominican Republic until his health forced him to move back home to be close to family.
Randy is survived by his sons, Derek (Julia) Diedrich, Justin (Amber) Diedrich, and Brent (Arin) Diedrich. He was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Bernard (Toni) Diedrich and Richard (Patty) Diedrich, sister Pat (Al) Pravecek, ex-wife Rhonda (Blaine) Drageset, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tom and Ronnie.
