Renata Voller, 89, Bowdle, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Bowdle Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bowdle. Pastor Zachary Sippert will lead the service, usher will be Blake Eisenbeisz, and Pastor Timothy Daub will be the organist. Congregational Hymns will be “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “Beautiful Savior”, “God Loves Me Dearly”, and “I’m But a Stranger Here; Heaven is My Home”. Interment follows at the Church Cemetery.
Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday. Renata’s family will be present to greet guests from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Renata Buechler, daughter of Rosa (Schumacher) and August Buechler, was born at Bowdle on March 1, 1935. She was raised on her parent’s farm 3 miles west and 4 miles south of Bowdle and attended NW Odessa Rural School. Following her schooling, she worked on her farm and for neighbors. She married Lloyd Voller at St. John Lutheran Church in Bowdle on May 24, 1959. Renata waitressed at cafes in Bowdle, worked at the Gamble’s store, and was employed at the Bowdle Nursing Home. Most recently she was employed at Turner Drug in Bowdle, having started there in 1983. Renata and Lloyd built their own home on the east end of Bowdle. They tore down the train depot from Selby, SD and used the lumber to build their home. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bowdle and the Bowdle Senior Center. Renata loved to sew, making clothes for herself and Lloyd. Renata and Lloyd enjoyed going to Polka Fests, visiting their family in Rapid City, SD and just driving around.
Renata is survived by her son, Terron (Karla) Voller of Rapid City; two brothers—Harlan (Stella) Buechler of Bowdle and Kenneth (Sandy) Buechler of Denver, CO; two grandchildren—Derek (Kaylin) Voller of Lyons, NE and Kaitlyn Voller of Sioux Falls, SD; and one sister-in-law, Virginia (Harry) Bieber of Bismarck ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd on March 30, 2020; her father, August, on February 2, 1998; her mother, Rosa, on January 23, 1988; her sister, Ramona Krause on March 19, 2023; and one brother-in-law, Harlan (Blackie) Krause on June 2, 2000.

Casket bearers will be Renata’s grandson, Derek Voller; MyRon Zimmer, Rick Boschee, Max Buechler, and Matthew Buechler of Bowdle; and Spencer Buechler of Watertown, SD.
