A Memorial Service for Richard Crow Ghost, 61, of McLaughlin will be held at 1:00 PM (CT), Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Kesling Funeral Home Chapel in Mobridge. Burial will be at the St. John’s Episcopal Cemetery in Bullhead under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Richard passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at his home in McLaughlin.
Richard Crow Ghost, Jr., was born June 26, 1962, in Ft. Yates, North Dakota to Richard Yellow Earrings and Francine Crow Ghost. After Richard graduated from High School, he joined the Army.
Throughout his lifetime spent on The Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, he tended to big fires during his firefighting days which he loved doing. He then started traveling around to baseball and basketball tourneys, he held together the team “West End”. He spent many years playing, his teammates became his family. His “West End family” included; Stuart Bobtail Bear, Boe Eagle Pipe, James Bear Stops, Edwin Widow, Orlando Morrison, Al Fast Horse, “Big Nate” Benoist, Tugboat Kills Crow, Mark Fire Cloud & boys. Richie is reunited with; Norris Widow, Orrie Dupris, Alton Blacktail Deer, Gordon “Moose” Blue Arm and Eric Kills Crow, whom were all apart of his “West End family”. He made many friends at his tourneys and on his fires. We apologize for whoever we may have forgotten.
He is survived by his sister, Darla Yellow Earrings, Peter Yellow Earrings, Nicklas (Nicky) Hollow. His children, Richard Keeps Eagle, Shade Crow Ghost, Chantal Crow Ghost, Shantay Crow Ghost, Megan Morrison, Alyssa Hayes, Kansas Brown, Jared Brown, and grandkids.
He’s reunited with his mom, Francine Crow Ghost, dad, Richard Luke Yellow Earrings and sister, Carla Bagola
