Robin was born May 21, 1957, to Donald Cable and Yvonne (Moody) Stephens in Huron, SD. She was the oldest of four siblings, Donna, Brenda, Sarah, and Bert. She grew up in Ree Heights, Pierre, and Oklahoma. The family made their way back to Ree Heights, where they started up a restaurant in Highmore.
At the age of 15 in 1972, Robin met Randy in Ree Heights and was married in June of 1974. They proceeded to take over the restaurant in Highmore. They also ran two bars later on, where you could see three boys riding around on their tricycles. Those boys were Shane, Eric, and Cody.
In 1980, the family moved to Miller, where Robin did numerous jobs throughout the years. From working at the nursing home, managing the convenience stores and the Virginian, and owning Bob’s Drive In. Also running a rural mail route, where she loved to carry candy and hand out to children along the way. Her last job was riding the mower at the cemetery and getting a tan.
Her boys might have given her a few heart attacks, but they were absolutely the highlight of her life, along with her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her pastime favorites were fishing, camping, cooking, eating popsicles, and carving pumpkins with the grandchildren.
One of her traditions was getting scratch tickets at Christmas for everyone. She loved watching the family scratch and see who won. One of her last items she loved to do was teaching the great-grandchildren how to cook and even wash dishes.
Robin is survived by husband, Randy; children: Shane (Kimberly), Eric (Sarah), and Cody (Summer); grandchildren: Samantha, Xavier (Medora), Hunter, Isabella, Paige, Caden, Emma and Elias; great-grandchildren: Thaddeus and Jaxson; sisters: Donna (Lyle-partner), Brenda (Robert), Sarah (Brent); brother, Bert (Summer); sister-in-law, Trudy; and many nieces and nephews.
Robin is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Cable and Yvonne and Bill Stephens; brother-in-law, Kevin Sporrer; and sisters-in-law, Tess Sporrer and Diane Dassinger.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Robin’s arrangements.
