Rosie was united in marriage to Raymond E. Neigel on January 27, 1958 at All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte. To this union eight children were born. They farmed ten miles northeast of Eagle Butte for ten years. Then they moved into Eagle Butte, where her husband worked for Eagle Butte Plumbing & Heating. When Ben Franklin sold out, she worked at Thompson Drug Store. The drug store was bought by her daughter and son-in-law, Mick and Jenny Joens, and she continued to work for them. Rosie retired in 2005 due to having back surgery. She moved to Conde, SD in the fall of 2010 to live with her daughter, Dianne.
She enjoyed her days at home doing crosswords, embroidery, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was well known for her long johns, caramel rolls, her famous strawberry cake, along with her German potato salad.
