PIERRE, SD – Sherry Lynn Foss, 68, of Pierre, SD, died on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at her home surrounded by family after a courageous three year battle with extensive stage small cell lung cancer.

Sherry was born on December 18, 1957 in Gregory, SD. Her parents are Clarence and Carol (Ragan) Raschke. She grew up in both Gregory and Winner, SD, and graduated from Winner High School.

Sherry married the love of her life, Kelly Foss, on June 2, 1984. They have three children: Jennifer, Matthew and Raelynn.

Sherry and Kelly lived in Winner for a short time after they got married. During that time she worked for her dad at Gateway Aerial Sprayers and had several other jobs before they moved to Huron, SD. Sherry enjoyed living near and spending as much time as possible with her family and many friends. This was a difficult move for her to make.

After living and working for a few years in Huron; Sherry, Kelly and their children moved to Pierre, SD where she lived for the remainder of her life. During her time in Pierre she worked at Ferding Electric, Hospice Thrift Store, Walgreens and several other jobs.

Sherry was a workaholic. She spent most of her life working a full and part-time job. Somehow after working all of those hours she still managed to find time for her family and many friends whenever they needed help.

Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to attend their activities and was always there for them whenever they needed a helping hand. Sherry was an avid sports spectator. She enjoyed watching football and wrestling the most. She loved the outdoors. She loved camping, fishing and boating. In her rare downtime she enjoyed a good true crime show.

Sherry is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years Kelly Foss, her children: Jennifer (Chad) Duffy of Winner, Matthew Foss of Pierre, and Raelynn (Brad) Paulsen of Pierre, her grandchildren: Elisabeth (Justus) Gregg, Owen Duffy, Broden Duffy, Izzabell, Layndon, Hayven, Carter and Harper Paulsen, and two great grandchildren: Jackston and Judson Gregg. Sherry is also survived by her mother Carol Raschke of Winner, two brothers: Rodney (Beth) Raschke of Pierre and Claude (Destine) Raschke of Woonsocket, SD, many nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Micheal Foss of Pierre.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father Clarence Raschke, her granddaughter Saydee, her parents-in-law Darrell and Darlene Foss
