Stephanie Flying By, 24, of McLaughlin, SD, spread her wings and soared to new heights on February 3, 2025, in Indio, California. Leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. While she may be gone, her spirit will continue to fly on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

Funeral services are being held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, at Elk Horn Congregational Church, Little Eagle, SD. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Stephanie Flying By flew into this world on September 29, 2000, with a smile that could light up any room. She was the beloved daughter of Wilbur Flying By Jr. and Ramona Uses The Knife-Marshall, who always marveled at her zest for life and adventurous spirit.

Although Stephanie did not have any children of her own, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews when given the chance, she had a knack for bringing joy to the lives of those around her. Her laughter was infectious, and her kindness knew no bounds.

She is survived by her mother, Ramona (George) Uses The Knife-Marshall; siblings: Gideon, Brianne, Julianne, Anzley, Kenzley and Elouise Flying By, Patrick Marshall and Ray Red Fox; cousins: Sarah, Phyllis, Anthony, and Hannah Flying By, and K’Lynn, Talia Speker; nieces and nephews: K’Liyah, Josephine, Gabriel, Ameira, Travion, Oscar, Adelia, Vincent, River Jr., Leona, Emoree, Raya, Dipper, Elijah, Phoebe, and Isabelle; grandmothers: Phyllis Archambault and Sandra Red Fox; aunts and uncles: John Flying By, Jodi Vermillion, and Allen Cetan Iyanka; and many relatives on the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River reservations. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Flying By Jr.; sister, Whitney Flying By; and grandpa, Wilbur Flying By Sr. 

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Stephanie’s arrangements.
