Catholic Funeral Service for Terry “Spanky” Elk Nation, 55, of Bullhead will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2024, at The St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bullhead. Burial will be at the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Bullhead under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 1, 2024, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bullhead. Spanky passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.
Terry Lynn Elk Nation was born November 1, 1968, to Alvina Elk Nation Long Chase and Lynn Utter.
He was raised in Bullhead by his great grandmother Blanche Mutchler, she gave him the nickname “Spanky”, He went to grade school in Bullhead and high school in McIntosh.
Spanky loved to hunt and fish, always keeping himself busy. He was a hunting guide for many years and a security guard for the Rock Creek District.
Spanky had many friends who called him brother, he was loved by many.
Spanky is survived by his mother Alvina Long Chase, Aunt Marilyn Nation of Minneapolis, Minnesota, uncle Raymond Elk Nation of Rapid City. Brothers, Mark (Marissa) Elk Nation, Mike Elk Nation, sisters, Rose Marie Bruce, Anna Long Chase, Jackie (Scott) Brown Otter, Geri Elk Nation, Roxanne (Lloyd) Stoneman and many nieces and nephews. Spanky was preceded in death by his grandparents and great grandma Blanche Mutchler, Dad, Lynn Utter, step-dad, Brent Long Chase, brother, Cody Long Chase and nephew, Zachary Long Chase
