Tristan Last Horse, 22, of Takini, entered the spirit world, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Takini.
A wake service will be 6:00 p.m. MDT, Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Takini High School, Takini with a procession from the Takini C-Store at 3:00 p.m.
A second wake will be held at 1:00 p.m. MDT, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Little Wounded House of Prayer Hall, Kyle, SD. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the hall in Kyle with burial to follow at St. Barnabas Cemetery, Kyle.
Tristian Zane was born July 3, 2002, to Austin Last Horse and Benita Belt. He was raised in the communities of Takini and Bridger located on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe reservation. He went to school, graduating from Takini High School in 2020 as class salutatorian. After graduation, Tristan worked as a custodian at Takini H.S. and later in the kitchen.
He loved to fix cars, hunt and fish. He would go to Sturgis to watch drifting competitions. Most of all he loved being outdoors. Tristan was one of the first Takini Runners in 2012 for the Wounded Knee Survivors Run, along with his older brother Wyatt Belt. Tristan loved to work out, lift weights, he learned to box when he was younger. He was tough and relentless when he competed.
His siblings will miss him deeply and we will all miss his smile.
Tristan loved his family and was loved greatly by his family as well. He leaves behind his loving mother, Benita Belt of Takini; father, Austin Last Horse of Kyle; brothers: Kody Belt, Toretto Thunder, and Derrick Star Comes Out; siblings: Tasha Belt, Lovelynn Thunder, Angelynna and Renee Last Horse, Rope, Lenora, Aleigha and Ryder Last Horse; his boy C.J. Belt; aunts: Raenell, Naomi, and Kimberly; uncles: Gayle and Roger Last Horse; paternal grandparents: Darlene Last Horse, and Joyce Last Horse; maternal grandmother, Anne Montileaux; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Bernard and Celeste Belt; brother, Wyatt Belt; cousins: Jessica Morrison, Charla Morrison, Elijah Morrison, and Bronco Hunts Horse; hunka brother, Cole Brings Plenty; paternal grandparents: Reinzol and Rebecca Last Horse Sr., Carol Crazy Bear, Jean Last Horse, Wilma Last Horse, Maureen Last Horse, and Linda Around Him; paternal great grandparents: Johnson and Mary Last Horse, Leon and Nora Gay, Catharine Jealous of Him, and Naomi Swimmer; and his uncles/aunts, Ramone and Angel Last Horse and Kimberly and Andrea Crazy Bear.
