Born on November 27th, 1968, in Mason City, Iowa, to Laverne and Sue (Myers) Reimers. Wade grew up on his family farm and attended school in Osage, Iowa, where he excelled in and developed a passion for sports like wrestling, football, and baseball.
After high school, he attended NIACC in Mason City, Iowa, where he met and married Bonnie (Haakinson) Reimers, they both finished their Undergrad at UNI, and he received his law degree at USD in 1995. Following graduation, he began his law career at Olinger Law Firm in Pierre until 2015. He finished his career at DSS with the State of South Dakota.
During that time, together with Bonnie, they had three children, Dylan, Quinn, and Caitlin. As a father, he found great joy in coaching his children in various sports like football, wrestling, baseball, and softball. Wade also cherished the outdoors and loved to take his sons on hunting and fishing trips with his life-long friends, creating memories that Dylan and Quinn continue to look back on fondly.
Wade had an unwavering love for rock music, with Van Halen holding a special place in his heart. He had a natural ear to music, and his talent with the guitar was unmatched, he was able to replicate iconic riffs and solos with ease. His passion for music was contagious, going to as many rock concerts as he could, blaring his guitar during his children’s bedtime, and shaking the house with his surround sound live concerts of the Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin in the living room. He shared this love with everyone around him, always ready to play a tune on any instrument wherever he was, and sending new found songs every chance he could get.
Wade also had a love for good food, he was obsessed with the travel channel, Bon Appetit magazine, and everywhere he went, his priority was the next best place to eat.
He is survived by Bonnie and their children: Dylan (Liz) Reimers, Quinn (Kallie) Reimers, and Caitlin (Jacob) Beastrom. As well as his three grandchildren, Finn, Aria, and Adalynn. His sister Jen Frein, and his brother, Andy Reimers, his nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
