The public will get a chance to preview the 11th season of Amazon’s Fireball Run television series this week in Pierre.
South Dakota’s capitol city served as a primary film location and is featured in several episodes. Vermillion, Yankton and Gregory also served as stopping points in South Dakota for the teams.
The “Pierre Rockers” team of father-son duo Trace and Bryan Beck represented Pierre in the cross country adventure held Sept. 21-29, 2017. Teams started in Eau Claire, WI, and traveled 2000 miles before finishing in Rapid City. The Beck’s will host the sneak peek of Fireball Run Thursday at 5pm at Beck Motors. All 30 episodes of Fireball Run’s 11th season premier Jan. 15 on Amazon Prime.
Fireball Run is the story of 40 driving teams as they compete in a quest to find America’s obscure historic artifacts, unique attractions and amazing experiences. Teams are tasked with clues which, if solved on time, lead to an array of amazing artifacts, physical challenges and unusual experiences spanning the Midwest. To win, teams accumulate points for locating and arriving to places on time and successfully accomplishing tasks.
Throughout the live-action competition, every driving team is tasked with distributing thousands of posters featuring a missing child. To date, Fireball Run’s Race to Recover America’s Missing Children awareness campaign for the Child Rescue Network has aided in over 50 child recoveries. The Becks distributed posters of raise awareness of Sharon Baldeagle who has been missing from Eagle Butte since 1984.
