The Pierre School Board has approved an approximately $30.2-million budget for the 2019-20 school year.
Business manager Darla Mayer says salaries and benefits make up about two-thirds of the budget.
She says the projected budget is a 3.8% increase over the previous year.
Mayer says Pierre School District tax levies should go down slightly.
The budget includes a 5% salary increase for certified, classified and administrative staff and a 5.4% increase for extra duty/activity contracts.
