USDOT awards $13-million grant for replacement of Missouri River Bridge between Pierre and Fort Pierre

“Secretary Chao called me this afternoon to tell me that the U.S. Department of Transportation will be awarding a federal grant to fund the replacement of the Missouri River Bridge,” said Thune. “This bridge serves as an essential link between East River and West River South Dakota, so I am glad it will be receiving the funding needed to ensure this important thoroughfare remains a safe piece of infrastructure for everyone across the state who uses it.”

“I thank Secretary Chao for recognizing the need to continue to invest in these important bridge and highway projects,” said Rounds. “Funding for this project will help replace the Missouri River Bridge connecting Pierre and Ft. Pierre, providing critical access to our capital city.”
