A 41-year-old Pierre woman faces charges after kicking in the door at a residence last night (Mon.) in Pierre.
Melanie Gwilliams was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Intentional Damage to Property after Pierre Police Officers were called to the 400 block of West Capitol Avenue around 10pm.
Police Capt. Bryan Walz says during the investigation, they learned Gwilliams and another party had been arguing. After not being allowed access to the residence the other party was in, Gwilliams began kicking the door until she was able to gain access. Once inside, the argument continued, Gwilliams retrieved a knife and threatened the victim with it.
Gwilliams was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
