Ringneck Energy Joins RFA as newest producer member

By Diane Deis Oct 15, 2019 | 6:21 AM
Ringneck Energy of Onida, S.D. has joined the Renewable Fuels Association as its newest producer member, the association announced, with CEO Walt Wendland being elected to the RFA Board of Directors at the association’s recent annual meeting in Minneapolis.

Ringneck’s plant near Onida recently opened, with an estimated capacity of 80 million gallons of ethanol each year, produced using 29 million bushels of corn. A June open house for members of the new state-of-the-art facility included South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden.

“The team members at Ringneck Energy and I are excited to take the next step in our RFA membership and become RFA’s newest Producer Member,” said Walt Wendland, President and CEO of Ringneck Energy. “I’m thrilled that the new facility has been successful in startup and we look forward to utilizing our RFA membership to make a positive impact in the industry at the national level.”

“We are happy to welcome Ringneck Energy to RFA as a producer member, and we look forward to having Walt’s perspective and experience at the RFA board of directors’ table,” said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper. “We’re pleased that the company recognizes the value of RFA membership, as we strive to provide industry-leading technical, research, government relations, regulatory and public relations expertise to Ringneck and all our members. We look forward to working with Walt and his team, and other RFA members, to chart the future course of America’s vibrant renewable fuels industry.”
