The firefighters are leading law enforcement 67 to 41 after the first day of the Tyler Wilcox Memorial Guns and Hoses blood drive.
Today (Dec. 3) and tomorrow people can donate blood at Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre. Today’s hours are 11:30am to 6pm. Tomorrow’s hours are 8am to 2:30pm.
Tyler Wilcox passed away in 2005 after a three year fight with cancer. His mother Geri says Tyler would love the friendly competition inspired by this blood drive.
Wilcox says Tyler used over 250 units of blood during his cancer battle and wanted to do something to pay the generosity forward.
With one donation, you can impact up to three lives. This year’s goal is 400 units.
