A wind advisory is in effect for much of central South Dakota from noon until 10pm today (Tues.).
Weatherology meteorologist Derek Heit says strong wind is coming out of the southeast.
The National Weather Service says the gusty winds coupled with humidity values of 30-40% create an elevated fire risk across the region through sunset tonight. Gusty winds and relative humidities falling to near 30% tomorrow afternoon will again create an elevated fire risk across the region.
