BROOKINGS – Three South Dakota State women’s golfers, Sydney Bormann, Cassidy Laidlaw and Alex Kandolin, have been named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. To receive this honor, a player must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Bormann, a senior from Parkston, is receiving this honor for the fourth time. She graduated with a 4.00 GPA in human biology. Bormann was also recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Women’s At-Large third team and earned her third straight Summit League All-Academic selection. Her stroke average of 77.78 is sixth all-time in the SDSU women’s golf program.
Laidlaw, a junior from Calgary, Alberta, has a 3.56 GPA in human biology. Her stroke average was 78.56 this season and she shot a three-under 69 in the third round of the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Kandolin, a freshman from St. Thomas More in Rapid City, has a 3.80 GPA in human biology.
