SPEARFISH – Black Hills State has announced its 2020 men’s basketball recruiting class of eight players. One is from South Dakota, 6’6” forward Ryder Kirsch of Rapid City St. Thomas More. Kirsch averaged 20.5 points per game, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists as the Cavaliers went 19-2, were number one in boys A basketball through last season, and would have been a favorite in the state tournament that was cancelled by the pandemic. Kirsch was a first-team Class A All-State player.

- Daryn Whisman – 6’2” guard – Colorado Springs, CO
- John Shanklin – 6’9” forward – Bellevue, NE
