DICKINSON, ND – The struggling Pierre Trappers lost their fourth straight game Tuesday 7-3 to the Badlands Big Sticks in a game called because of weather in the top of the eighth inning.
Michael Herrera singled to lead off the game and start a three-run first-inning rally, but that was the Trappers’ only hit of the game. One run scored in that inning on a fielder’s choice and the other two came in on an error.
Badlands scored single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings, then scored three to take the lead in the sixth off losing pitcher Owen Vanthillo (0-1). Carson Lundmark homered for the Big Sticks.
Pierre is 4-8 and will look to salvage one game out of the series Wednesday night in Dickinson at 7:35 CT before opening a four-game series with the Big Sticks at Hyde Stadium Thursday night at 7:05.
