Earlier this week, the South Dakota Department of Health issued information saying the public may have been exposed to a COVID-19 positive person June 30 or July 1 (from 5-7pm) while attending the 75th annual Sitting Bull Stampede Rodeo in Mobridge.
But, those were actually the dates of The Horse Nation Indian Relay Races at the rodeo grounds.
Health Department spokesman Derrick Haskins says they issued the public notice based on information they’d received.
Due to the risk of exposure, individuals who attended the event during the specified dates and times should monitor for symptoms for 14 days. A CDC screening tool is available at COVID.SD.GOV, which can help recommend when to call your medical provider if you develop symptoms.
