RAPID CITY – Capital City took third place in the South Dakota Little League Baseball Tournament Sunday with a 15-12 win in eight innings over Harney Little League of Rapid City. Hudson Stoeser had three hits and three RBI, including the go-ahead RBI infield single in the top of the seventh.
After taking the lead in a run in the top of the first inning, Capital City scored seven runs in the second and another in the fourth to lead 9-0. Harney then scored two in their half of the fourth and four in the fifth. Capital City scored twice in the top of the sixth before Harney scored five in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings. Each team then scored a run in the seventh before Capital City took the final lead with three runs in the eighth. Capital City out-hit Harney 20-11.
