ABERDEEN – On-campus athletic workouts in progress at Northern State University have been suspended after the school confirmed that several students have tested positive for COVID-19.
At least one person who tested positive attended recent youth girls athletic camps that were held on campus. A volleyball camp was held on July 20 and 21, a basketball camp on July 23 and 24 and a soccer camp on July 24, 25 and 26.
There is no further delay of fall sports athletic practices or competitions aside from the recent announcement by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference stating that fall sports at its institutions will be delayed. Football and cross country can have their first practices on September 2 with competition allowed on September 26. Practices for volleyball and soccer can start on September 8, with games allowed to begin on October 2.
