Governor Kristi Noem has signed an executive order to form the South Dakota Complete Census Committee. The goal of this committee is to help South Dakotan’s understand the importance of the Census prior to it’s September 30th, 2020 deadline.
The press release says that Governor Noem will appoint committee members to represent different part of our sate. She will appoint them from the Governor’s Office, the Department of Education, Department of Social Services, Department of Tribal Affairs, the Secretary of State and others. The release says that Noem will appoint a chair or co-chair. Once that is done, the committee must meet with 14 days of its formation.
The goal of the committee is to ensure that everyone who is a resident of South Dakota gets counted in this years Census.
