Most college students are back on campus and many agriculture students are preparing for the 2020 Animal Agriculture Alliance College Aggies online scholarship competition. Normally this event takes place in person, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have moved these events online.
There is around $20,000 in scholarships up for grabs this year during this nine week program. Students will learn how they can become confident and effective communicators as well as an advocates for the agriculture industry.
Students will be doing thing like planning a virtual farm tour, talking to younger generations about the industry via video chat, and holding event that are centered around food security such as food drives.
This program is centered around the mentors from the industry. These folks give up time out of their day to help mentor these students. The mentors give these students the skills they need to be advocates for the industry.
The competition will kick off on September 14th.
