South Dakota’s 2020 Youth Waterfowl season runs September 12th through September 13th. Children ages 12 to 17 years-old are eligible to take advantage of this special season. According to the South Dakota’s Game, Fish and Parks website, any child that is 18 years-old by the first day of the season may not participate in the youth season.
The goal behind the Youth Waterfowl Season is for adults to introduce younger generations to the sport, so the younger generations will keep the traditions alive.
Any child that chooses to participate must be accompanied by an adult. The adult may not hunt during this time.
