ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Wild signed defenseman Jonas Brodin to a seven year contract extension for $42 million that begins with the 2021-22 season and goes through 2027-28. Brodin, 27, tallied 28 points in 69 games last season setting career highs in points and assists (26). The 6-foot-1, 194-pound native of Karlstad, Sweden, has played in 171 consecutive games for the Wild, the longest active streak on the team. He owns 146 points (30-116=146), a plus-47 rating, 162 penalty minutes and 890 blocked shots in 555 career N-H-L games during eight seasons with Minnesota.
